about the children
the children are at the heart of our mission and the focus of our treatment program. in fact, they are the reason we formed wrap up africa in the first place! burkitt’s lymphoma is the cancer responsible for the majority of childhood cancer in uganda. it is a highly treatable cancer and with therapy should have a 90% success rate. unfortunately, the majority of ugandans live on less than a dollar a day making treatment out of reach and outcomes for the children poor. like many people that have been through a tragedy, these children have wisdom and an appreciation for life that makes them valuable resources to their country and well suited to be change agents in the future. we simply cannot let these beautiful beings slip away.
